Hot Pies & Potato Crisps
The Performance
A celebration of Australian poetry – with Brett Hunt
Brett Hunt, an acclaimed actor, guitarist and singer, has a degree in acting from Wollongong University. He has released four albums of music and has twenty years on the stage. In this play Brett acts and sings his way through a wide selection of Australian poetry.
Joy, happiness, despair, laughter, tears…life! Hot Pies and Potato Crisps hunts with the aboriginal, is shackled with convicts, rides guns blazing with bushrangers; tastes the bitter salt-fear of the whaler and the blood of the digger in the trench. It romances youth and falls in love, and then out of love, and then in love again. It contemplates old age and gazes at death. Funny, silly, poignant…
